Mood Swings - Official Announcement Video

Mark Rosewater, head designer for Magic the Gathering, announces a new trading card game called "Mood Swings," available through Secret Lair. Rosewater has been developing this game since 1998, aiming for a more accessible trading card experience than Magic. Mood Swings is a light strategy game for two to four players, designed for quick games lasting five to ten minutes. Each box contains 45 cards, allowing immediate play. While there's no mandatory deck building, the game incorporates collectability and trading. The twist is that each box contains a randomized assortment of 23 commons, 14 uncommons, 6 rares, and 2 mythics from a total of 133 unique cards, ensuring a different experience with each purchase. The game uses five colors, similar to Magic, and features sketches of Magic art, representing moods and emotions. Rosewater describes Mood Swings as his "love letter to trading card games," designed to be appealing to both experienced players and newcomers. It will be available for sale on the Secret Lair website starting June 1st.
