Suddenly, Fay hears them when the narrator gains XP. They are forced to abort the mission, with Theo fighting Fay briefly while the narrator tries to trade. Fay realizes someone is there. The narrator manages to get unbreaking books before they retreat. Despite the close call, they consider it a partial success, as the narrator managed to get some books and Theo stole two maxed-out swords.
